We highly recommend Riley Creek Campground in Laclead Idaho. Just west of Sandpoint on highway 2 we discovered a lovely place to park for the night. The sites are large with hookups, picnic table, fire pit, and trees for hanging our hammock.
We had a free night so we packed up two of our grandchildren, our daughter, dog, bikes and smores’ and headed out for this fun adventure. We were not disappointed. The kids had a great time riding their bikes on the numerous trails throughout the campground and near the river. We also discovered a playground that kept our grandchildren entertained. Our dog loved the dog play area, which is large and located on an island!
The bathrooms were very clean and offered nice showers as well. We spent the evening around the fire roasting marshmallows and enjoying smores.
The campground was full, but still peaceful, quiet and offered the privacy we like. We will be going back to Riley Creek again, and hopefully stay a little longer next time.
