Last Fall we purchased our first RV. The intended purpose was not only for our own road trip adventures, but also to rent it to others so they too could enjoy road trip fun!
We immediately took it out after the purchase and had a great time visiting Glacier National Park, Flathead, and everything in between. Then shorty after that we went to the coast of Washington and Oregon.
The land is barren in many places and dessert like, giving the impression that there is no place to go and not a single person to see. But, just before Chelan we descended a long steep hill (12% grade downhill) into the valley by the Columbia River and the campground, Bebee RV Park where we stayed for the night.
We were eager to get set up and after walking our dogs, we hopped on our e-bikes and rode up another hill for about 2 miles into the town of Chelan. The hill is steep, and we were thankful to have the help of an e-bike.
The town of Chelan is small but beautiful. It offers a beautiful river walk to enjoy, a few shops, the visitors center (bathrooms are very nice) and some restaurants. I was a little disappointed for I had envisioned more coffee shops with various pastries, but we didn’t find that. We did enjoy ice cream at the local toy store; it was delicious. They offer a variety of unique and classic flavors, plus flavored cones.
We also went to Marcela’s Cocina Mexicana. It was a solid meal with good service, we rated it a 4 out of 5. Friendly, clean, and very large portions.
We had a good sleep, the campground was quiet and restful. We were by the river and loved our view from the RV window. The weather was rainy and cold, so we didn’t get to sit by the river as much as we would’ve liked. There was a place to sit up chairs by the river and I look forward to doing that next time.
We will go back to Chelan again. I’d like to take the 6-hour cruise up the lake, on Lady of the Lake. Also, explore the river walk and more of the restaurants. We will wait for warmer sunny weather for the next adventure to Chelan. This is a great weekend trip!
